Days off

On Saturdays I started playing around with the camera, taking pictures of how my days off tend to unfold... And as usual they start with coffee (by the way Spyhouse coffee is tops).
Chris knows how to use the DSLR camera better than me, and I felt like I was falling behind. So here is me learning.
Not going to lie though, my breakfast pictures are iphone pictures (if you couldn't tell).

I recently got some great plates, linen napkins, coasters and mugs from Crate and Barrel. I'm starting to build my kitchen collection little by little (my new obsession). I've discovered I enjoy styling my table as much as styling my outfits. And these plates from Crate and Barrel sure make my meals look good... Bring in all the neutrals.

Easter was this past weekend, and if you were wondering what Anchor had to do with Easter (as written on my notebook)  it's the name of my home church.

Below are a few pictures taken by my friend Bianca, my craft buddy and the lovely girl I'm standing next to on the very first picture <3.

Weathered door

shirt: Anthropologie | jeans: DSTLD | bag: Free People | boots: Seychelles | watch: Daniel Wellington

I love the color on this pictures. I was tired of trees, bushes and grass, and this weathered door is a perfect change.

So my new thing? I've started looking at recipes online, and have found some amazing inspiring food bloggers out there that make delicious stuff.
The other day I made Salted bourbon dark chocolate brownies with vanilla bean whipped cream -all from scratch- ... I know! right?!
I was very proud of myself, but I have certainly set the bar high in the kitchen. Now the husband expects a lot of delicious treats and meals on my days off, oops!

Time to get inspired I say.

For the Love

Untitled

This past weekend was tiring, but fun. The hubby got invited to play electric for a singer named Abbey Loren at a local festival. And I became his roadie.

C&I Studios holds a yearly festival called "For the love" and they invite a bunch of bands big and small to come play.

Wearing the hat saved me. The sun was everywhere and this hat gave my face and shoulders a nice shade.

[*Lizette's Tip: If you want to wear a big hat, but it's a windy day, just tie a headband or bandana to your head and sit the hat on top of it. Not only does it look cute, the wind will fight your hat and not win. Problem solved, I promise.]

Below is Chris playing in Abbey Loren's band "Love, Abbey"

The band 'Kids' was one of the many bands that played that night. If you haven't heard of them, you should look them up on Spotify. Their album is called RICH COAST. I promise their music won't disappoint.

And of course I would not only snap a picture of MeWithoutYou (below) but also stand this close to their stage. This band is truly amazing. I don't think they even need an introduction.

Chris and I were at this festival the whole day, from 11am till almost 1am... But when you have the highlight band MeWithoutYou go on at 11 pm how can one refuse to stay for that long? So worth it. Also the food truck game was on point... Lizette comes for the love of food. See what I did there? ;)

Smurf Town

If you had told me this blue shade was my color a long time ago then half my closet would probably be a Smurf town. But don't get me wrong, I still love my neutrals.

It was a beautifully windy, slightly chilly afternoon;  but when the sun would come out from behind the clouds, it was glorious. I just wanted to run under the sun kissed field and lie down to take in all of its warmth.

My band, The Anchor Collective, got to be filmed by one of our really good friends, Bobby Sammarco. And I'm guilty of having watched this video numerous times.
I believe I speak for everyone in the band when I say we are really proud of this new tune.

A big thank you to Sammarco Films.
